Our Story
Walnut Grove Farm began as a working homestead in the late 1800s, rooted in the rich soil of northeastern Kansas. Over generations, it remained a place of quiet labor and seasonal rhythms—harvests, livestock, and the steady turning of the land.
Today, we invite travelers to experience that same sense of place. Our restored buildings offer comfortable lodging surrounded by mature trees and open fields. It's not a resort; it's a home away from home, where the Wi-Fi is slow and the stars are bright.

Two thoughtfully restored rooms, each with its own character and views of the surrounding farmland.
Overlooking the old apple orchard, this room features original hardwood floors, a private entrance, and a vintage clawfoot tub. Morning coffee is served on the wraparound porch.
Housed in a converted 1920s barn, this suite boasts exposed timber beams, a stone fireplace, and panoramic views of the valley. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
The Experience
We don't offer a pool or a breakfast buffet. What we offer is something harder to find: real quiet, real space, and a genuine connection to the Kansas landscape.
No streetlights here. On clear nights, the Milky Way stretches across the sky like a river of diamond dust. Bring a blanket and a thermos.
Wander our private paths through native grasses and mature walnut groves. The trails connect to Valley Falls State Park trails just minutes away.
We live on the property and are always nearby if you need anything—but we respect your privacy. Expect warm hospitality and local recommendations.
Location
Valley Falls sits at the convergence of the Kansas and Little Nemaha rivers, surrounded by some of the most scenic bluffs and trails in the state. Our farm is a short drive from downtown Valley Falls and the entrance to the state park.
